7/17 & 7/18- Get your syllabus signed- Due Wednesday 7/19
7/20-Bring in 5 artifacts that represents your culture. You will receive a brown paper tomorrow (FRIDAY). Take the bag home over the weekend and decorate it. Place the artifacts in the bag and bring them to school on Monday. If the artifacts can not fit in the bag that is okay. However, all artifacts must be school appropriate. Due Monday 7/24/17.
7/26-Finish today's classwork, Why is Geography Important Lesson & Review of The Five Themes of Geography Lesson. This is due on Tomorrow July 27, 2016.
7/28-Postcard Activity-Read each postcard and identify the three different themes that are described within the postcard.
7/31-8/2-Five Themes of Geography Project-Due Thursday
8/2-Finish the NC Regions Postcard-Create a postcard that you would send home to tell your family about a NC Region. The front of the postcard should have a colored picture of the region and a short greeting. The back should have a short note to your family describing the region and some activities that you have been doing while visiting (at least 5 sentences).
8/7-Finish the NC Regions Map Activity; If you have received the NC Regions Brochure Project Instructions then you should begin your research.
8/7-8/10-NC Regions Brochures-Due Tomorrow. Must be printed! If you need me to print it then please share it with me tonight by 8:00 p.m.
8/16-Continue working on your First Americans Google Slides Presentation. Think about your artifact. The Google Slides presentations are due Monday!
8/17-Continue working on The First Americans Google Slides Presentation. Due Monday via email.
8/22&8/23-You are going to create a dinner menu that will help you understand the Columbian Exchange. Your menu should consist of four categories-appetizers, entrees, desserts, and drinks. There should be three meal items in each category. Menu items can be foods you already know of or it can be made up meals that you create. Use www.canva.com to create your menu. Be sure to use a free template. After creating the menu you will have to download it, save it then send it via email as an attachment.
8/24-8/29-Work on your artifact (In addition to your presentation, for homework each historian will create an artifact. This might be a totem pole, clothing, symbol story, shelter, jewelry, artwork, or anything else that relates to your tribe. You must be prepared to explain the importance of the artifact and how it relates to your tribe. Be creative!! Be sure to talk with your team members to make sure no two people are doing the same type of artifact). Due Wednesday, August 30, 2017
9/22-10/14-13 Colonies Flyer-Create a flyer advertising your colony. You will create a flyer that interests others in coming to the colony. These flyers will be included in a gallery walk to teach your peers about this colony.

11/09-Causes of The American Revolution Timeline with rubric. (Due Monday)
11/20-Battle of Moore's Creek Bridge Marker-Create a sign posted at the Battle of Moore's Creek battlefield that explains what happened there. The marker should have a title, include a simple drawing to represent the place/event, draw a meaningful border that relates to the title around the marker, and write a brief summary of what happened. Be sure to use color!
12/4/-The First American Government: The Articles of Confederation
12/7-Compare and Contrast the Virginia Plan vs The New Jersey Plan
1/29/18-Create two bumper stickers, one expressing the view of the Federalist Party and one expressing the view of the Democratic Republican Party on a major issue that you learned about.
2/5/18-XYZ Affair Comic Strip-Create a comic strip that illustrates what happened during the XYZ Affair. Your comic strip should explain the cause of the affair, what happened during the affair and how President Adams responded to the XYZ Affair. Be sure to use color and write a caption explaining each illustration you drew! Think who, what, when, where!
3/12/18-Finish Jackson Wins Presidency using the online textbook. Complete the Spoils System reading with graphic organizer on the back.
